Terminal Canopy Rain Cover
The project consisted of three separate rain canopies between the terminal and parking garage at Charleston International Airport. Included in the scope were foundations with helical piles, structural steel, translucent panels, drainage systems, lighting, and airport signage. Work had to be phased to allow continued access to the airport through two of the three airport walkways at all times. No work was allowed during holiday weeks and much of the construction had to be performed at night to minimize disruption to airport operations. Security and cleanliness were both critical issues throughout the project because of the occupied setting. Despite the work restrictions, the project finished a month ahead of the contractual date.
